Our versatile new River House venue for private entertaining provides a unique venue for important business meetings, team building exercises, training and other corporate hospitality functions.

We are easily accessible from Preston, Manchester and Lancaster - a short drive from junction 3 of the M55 roughly midway between Edinburgh and London (click here to find us on a map). We have ample parking space for visitors.



This brand new venue facilitates undisturbed boardroom style meetings for up to 20 delegates. Whether you are holding senior management discussions or meetings with business customers, the peaceful rural surroundings and stylish, comfortable furnishings create an environment conducive to creativity and productivity.

Included in our daily rates are:

We are flexible in providing for your individual food and drink needs. Choose between in-room dining options or dine in our riverside restaurant. Pre-order from a set menu or choose a hot and cold buffet style lunch.


Management Training and Team Building

The Cartford Inn is an ideal base for team building excursions, management training/development courses and staff reward days.

We work with regional and nationwide facilitators and consultants to deliver programmes of activities and courses (on and off-site) to meet your organisation’s team building needs and desired learning outcomes.

Packages of activities or events can be arranged to run over a half day, a full day, over a few days, or a weekend.

Other Training Courses

Our meeting room is available for hire and can accommodate up to 24 people in a classroom style layout. This makes for a special venue for training courses that take place over one or more days, including health & safety at work qualifications, first aid training and energy assessment courses.



We have fifteen beautiful boutique bedrooms for delegate guests who wish to enjoy an overnight stay.
