We are looking forward to welcoming Master of Wine Ed Adams to The Inn this April, when he will be hosting a very special dinner in our River House venue, with accompanying wines created by him under in his ‘La Bascula’ label.
Ed’s distinguished career in the wine industry began in sales and buying for several renowned merchants and importers. He became a Master of Wine in 1991 (there are currently only 356 in the world). It was in 2005 that he and South African winemaker Bruce Jack had the idea for La Bascula.
Their intention was to team up with great winemakers and wineries from the most illustrious Spanish wine regions and make small quantities of high-quality wines from Spanish grape varieties, but with progressive winemaking techniques. So, expect names like Rioja and Rueda, but expect wines which are a bit different from what you’ve tried before.
The wines will be paired with a specially created tasting menu. The dishes will be influenced by Spanish gastronomy and the cuisines of the regions which the wines come from. Ed will guide you through the wines and the tell you the La Bascula story.
